Welcome to the official website of Wolverhampton Municipal Grammar School Old Pupils Association - here you will find information about the Association and its' members who comprise of over 300 former pupils and teaching staff.
In June 1992, the Wolverhampton Municipal Grammar School Old Pupils Association was officially formed. It is open to all ex-members and staff of what was the Municipal Secondary School (1921-1945) and Municipal Grammar School (1945-1974).
Even 35 years after the Muni was transferred to Colton Hills and the old school transformed into an adult education centre, the membership stands at 307 (August 31 2009).
In 2003, an exhibition was held to celebrate '50 Years of Memories' and there were many displays showing how the school was down the years, through the different Headships of S T Baker, R R Stephens and G J Douel - the last Headmaster of the Muni before it closed in 1974. Today, the school buildings are still being well maintained and used, now being the Newhampton Road campus of Wolvehampton University. Since February 2009, the facilities have been extended to offer advice and support to those who have been made redundant or lost their jobs due to the credit crunch. It is good to see that these fine old buildings are still being put to good use.
